Respected Sir,

I am writing this email to convey my sincerest apologies to you for missing the interview that you have called me for. This is in reference to the telephonic conversation that I had with you on 4th May regarding the interview for the post of a sales executive. Although we mutually agreed for the interview to be held on 7th May, I could not attend the interview due to an unexpected issue that sprung up.

While I was about to leave my home and reach to the interview venue, I got a call from my sister that mom is not doing well. I got so worried that I had to rush back to home and take her to the hospital. Midst of all, I forgot to give you a call and inform you about my absence from the interview. I realise that it was unprofessional on my part to miss the scheduled interview and I am really very sorry for the behaviour.
