Subject:  Contact layoff email

Dear Sir

I am sending this mail in response to the mail sent by your department to me yesterday. I was shocked to read that I have been asked to leave the company on the ground of non performance. Further it was mentioned that if any clarification was required then I should contact with the HR department of the company. I want to know the exact reason of my termination from the service.

I would like to mention that I have been the best performer of the company for the past five years consecutive out of fifteen years of long service that I have given to this company .Moreover I have been asked to leave the job within this month but legally I should have been informed at least three months earlier so that I would have been able to find a new job in some other company. It is very difficult for me to get a new job in such a short time frame. I cannot afford to sit idle at home as I have got a family of four who are completely dependent on me.

I would request you kindly give me at least three months extra time. I will be waiting for a positive response from your side.

Thanking You

Yours’ Sincerely

Steve Collins

Manager HR
